Grey squirrels nest twice a year — typically in March and October — and often choose lofts as warm, sheltered nesting sites.

They commonly gain access by sitting in gutters and gnawing through fascia boards or roof edges.

Once inside, they can cause serious damage by:

- Shredding insulation

- Gnawing electrical wires

- Damaging woodwork

- Chewing plastic water pipes

Grey squirrels are an invasive species introduced by the Victorians.
They carry squirrel pox virus, which they are immune to but is fatal to native red squirrels.

They can also bring secondary pests such as fleas and mites, which may spread into the home.
We can fully sanitise affected areas if required.
